We had all the Vaughan kiddos over today as well as the Hornes, Grant and Lucy! While we were all together, we decided to make a video for RW. The kids ask about him all the time, so I thought it would be a great opportunity to let him know how much we all love and miss him! :) Enjoy!

Well, my little one is growing fast! He is so much fun, as I'm sure you can all see! He is 4 months old now! He is such a blessing and I just love him so much. I figured out how to get my videos on the computer, and I figured out how to edit them! This is a video that we took and edited for RW that is why it says, Love You at the end! Haha! Not that I don't love you guys! Lol! I am having fun with these videos, so expect more in the near future!! :)

A Week of FUN! :)

On Monday, Justin's Mom Kathy came and brought Lily over to us and stayed for a bit. We had a great visit with her! She is a wonderful woman. I could sit and listen to her talk all day! She is so great, and David was so comfortable with her. I guess he knows a Grandma when he sees one! :)

RW's sister Rachel flew in to CA on Friday and got to our house on Sat! Her visit just wasn't long enough. :( We had a really good time with her! David sure liked his Aunt Rachel. He was so full of smiles. I am so happy that someone from RW's side was able to see our little man! I am excited for the rest of the family to meet him as well. He is a bunch of fun! My little brother and sister loved having Rachel here too, they are her biggest fans! :)

Lily has been over this week, and I just love it when we have her! She is so at home here, and LOVES to do hair and makeup with me. We did her hair in pretty piggy tails and sprayed some glitter hairspray in it. We made sure to take some pictures! :) I can't wait to see her again tomorrow!!

This has been a great week, full of fun! More good news being that Shauna and Isaiah are on their way home! We can't wait for them to get back! Please keep them in your prayers for safe travels back to their family! :)

3 months

My sweet little man turned 3 months old yesterday. He is so much fun. I will admit, I was a little unsure of him at first. Lol! It was eat, sleep, poop, cry, eat, sleep, poop, cry...and it was set on repeat. I was so tired and just not really into the newborn stage, but now that has all changed! He has such a personality. He is smiling all the time now and he is so chatty! I love all his little noises, especially the happy ones! He is very animated and happy. I am so blessed to have this sweet baby. I cannot wait for my two boys to meet!! RW is going to think David is the coolest, I know I sure do! :)

Halloween

Today was a good day. We stayed home and hung out most of the day. Grace and I headed to town to get some last minute things for her costume. She talked me into getting some cat ears because she and Jeffrey wanted me to dress up so bad! I have to admit I was hesitant about it, but I had fun. I haven't dressed up in years, even though it was just the ears and some makeup it was fun. :)

We went to Light Night/Trunk or Treat at our church. It was a lot of fun. All the kiddos were dressed up, there were games and food and lots of fellowship. We had a great time. David was in one of his many Halloween outfits. Lol! He was the cutest! He was very sparkly...he got some of my glitter hairspray all over him! Hehee!

Now I must get myself to bed. It has been a long night and I have to get up for church in the morning, but I know I will be up at about 3am with my little man! I better go and catch some ZZZZZZZZ's! Goodnight! :)

Pumpkin Patch

On Tuesday, we went on a field trip to the pumpkin patch with my little brother's kindergarten class. It was a fun morning, but it was so cold!! We were freezing! I had David all bundled up and carried him around in the front pack. I wrapped my little brother's jacket around us and it looked like I had a headless child! Haha! There were a lot of parents who came along, who are good friends of ours so it was a nice time to socialize as well! :) I love fall, all of the pumpkins and fall decor. It was decorated so cute! We also got some yummy apple cider, my favorite! :)

Yesterday (Wednesday) was a busy day! We were running errands all day, got home changed clothes for church and then were out the door again! It seems like we weren't really at home at all. Church was fun, I work in the nursery. Last night David was the only baby in there. So it was really easy. :)

Today, (Thursday) is another day of running errands. We need to go and get some things that we forgot yesterday! Fun fun! Then tonight, my little brother has his first night of karate. We will see how he likes it! :)

Update

Just an update! Things here are going well. David is almost 3 months old now. I can't believe it. He is growing fast, but is still so little!

I am starting to enjoy him more and more. The first several weeks were tough, I have been suffering with postpartum depression. Its miserable! I went to the doctor and was put on some medicine and I am feeling much better. Still good days and bad days, but getting better with time. :) David is smiling more and more every day! I love it! I love that cute toothless grin! He is such a sweetheart!

We are getting really excited, because Aunt Rachel (RW's sister) is coming out for a visit! We can't wait to see her! :)

RW is also doing well. As well as can be expected. He wants to be home and we CAN'T WAIT to have him home! Please keep him in your prayers as he is away serving our country!

On another note, my little sister Grace has been trying out for the basketball team all week. Today they decided who made it and she didn't make it! :( She was so heartbroken. All she wanted was to make the team. It was hard because it was 5th-8th graders trying out, and the older kids were the ones who made it. She is just a little thing, but she gave it all she had! Please keep her in your prayers as well. She is still so sad! :(

David's 2 month update

Hello,

Well, David will be 2 months on Oct 4. We had his 2 month well baby check the other day and he is doing really well. He is now 10 lbs 3 oz and is 22". He is doing everything he is supposed to be doing and is right on schedule. He DID NOT like his shots though. He didn't cry AT ALL when he was circumsised, but a few shots and his little world fell apart! It was pitiful! But he was over it pretty quick, just had to get the crying out and we were good. :)

Everything is going well, just busy, busy! Being a Mommy is hard work, MUCH harder than I anticipated! He keeps me on my toes that's for sure, but I wouldn't trade him for anything! He is such a blessing! :)

My Pretty Flowers

Today I was surprised with flowers from my wonderful husband! :) It totally made my day! They are so pretty! Thank you so much baby! I love you!! Its funny how things like that can completely turn your day around! :)

David is here!

Hello Everyone,

Well, David IS HERE!! He made is debut on August 4, 2009 at 2:52am! It still seems like a whirlwind! I was contracting a whole week before hand and was thinking that he would never come out, but OH MAN DID HE! I can honestly say I have NEVER experienced pain like childbirth! There is no way to explain it! Thank goodness I had a fast delivery.

So the day started like every other that week, I was contracting and hurting but was beginning to learn to deal with the pain. A few hours into the day the contractions got significantly WORSE...they were knocking me to my knees and bringing me to tears! So my Mom and Shauna (my awesome labor coach) took me to the hospital for an OB check. The nurse set me up and was monitoring my contractions for about 30 min. She came back in and checked me and said that I was only dilated 1cm! I was ticked! She was rude and told me my contractions weren't strong enough and the baby wasn't down low enough! So she called the doctor and sent me home, but before I left she told me to come back if my contractions were 3-5 min apart for an hour...I was thinking, "WHY DO YOU THINK I AM HERE?!". They had been 3-5 min apart for several hours! Grrr!! The other thing she said was to come back if my water breaks. I was so discouraged when I left there. I mean I knew I was in pain, but they made me feel like an idiot.

So we went home. My brother and sister spent the night at a friends house, so the house was quiet and calm when we got home. I was on the couch crying because I was hurting soooo bad! Then all of this sudden, I got really warm and could have sworn I just wet my pants...but I knew I didn't! All I could think of was HAHA nurse, my water broke and I'm coming back! You can't send me home now!! Lol!

My water broke at 11:30pm that night! I was able to get in touch with RW so he knew what was going on and he called and notified his family so everyone would know what was going on. We left the house and headed to the hospital when I hit transition at about 1:30am and David was born at 2:52am! I am proud to say that I had a natural birth, no drugs and no epidural! Thank goodness it was a fast delivery! I don't think I could have done it without my Mom and Shauna. They were amazing! Shauna you were a GREAT coach! Thank you so much! :)

David was 5 lbs 8 oz 19". He is a month old now and is getting cuter by the day! I will be sure to try and stay on top of my blog so I can share pics and the cute little things he does! I just wish RW could be here to see him. He is such a proud papa! I can't wait for the two of them to meet! David looks JUST like his Daddy! He is so handsome! ;)

Baby Update

Well, things are going about the same. I have been contracting since Sunday morning and there hasn't been a break. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and was 90% effaced and 1.5cm dilated. Its all up to this baby to drop down a little more and then we may be in business. Hopefully he will make up his mind soon....this is getting old! Lol!

I will keep the update going as best I can! Hope everyone is doing well.

Baby Update

I started contracting early Sunday morning and have not had a break!! They seem to be every 3-8 minutes. I went in to the hospital for an OB check yesterday and they say that it is early labor and could go like this for days!! Aaaaahhh! It hurts so bad, the pain is getting more intense and makes it near to impossible to sleep when I am waking up every few minutes in PAIN!!

I am 37 weeks pregnant and considered full term, so we will have a healthy baby! We just don't know when he is going to make his appearance. David is handling the contractions well, we just need him to drop down a little more.

I will do my best to keep everyone posted. I try to get on the computer between the pain. Lol!

My Blessing of the Day

Today as I was laying in bed feeling miserable with this cold, my phone rang! It was RW! His calls are always the greatest to get. I talked to him for a few minutes and he asked me to get on my military email so I could talk to him on that instant messenger. So I got to talk to him 3 times today! Twice on the computer and once on the phone. I guess he was in a different office for today and had some internet access but he couldn't be on it long! I will take whatever I can get! :) YAY!
I was really happy to be able to talk to him. He is doing well, he is just a tired guy and has been working some long hours. Other than that he sounded great! It was a nice surprise to be able to talk to him that many times in a day, so even though I don't feel well at all, that was a nice blessing and made me forget about being sick for just a little bit!

Vacation Bible School

It has been a fun week of Vacation Bible School. My mom and I worked in crafts so we were able to see ALL the kiddos as they came through. It was a lot of fun, I got to spend some time with some people that I haven't seen in a while, so that was really nice. The Lord also blessed us with a COOL week...the building we were working in didn't have air conditioning, it didn't get hot in there at all. Thank you Jesus!

The theme of VBS was Studio GO. It was a game show theme. Everyday was a different story from the Bible. So the crafts we made went along with the story of the day. We made some fun things, I think the one of the fun days was when we made Queen Esther's crown. Miss Lily looked so darn cute in her little crown, what a little princess! I had to make myself one so I matched the girls! :)

It was a fun week! Now its time to get things done to prepare for Mr. David! :)

Summer

So far summer hasn't been bad! We have spent some time over at our friend Michelle's house swimming in their pool. I have an interesting tan going on, but I am tan so I will take it! LOL! We had Gracie's 10th birthday party over there and had blast! It feels nice to be in the water, although I feel like a huge whale! "Somebody throw Shamu back into the ocean!" Lol! :) Hopefully I can get a few more swims in before David makes his arrival!

Oh the many joys of pregnancy

As I sit here preparing for bed, David is kicking and squirming like crazy. Which is why I haven't been sleeping at all! Between his parties at night and all the bathroom trips, it is almost more work to try and sleep than to just stay up! LOL! He is a busy little guy, but I wouldn't have it any other way. Movement is a good sign of a healthy active baby! That's what we want! :)

I have just entered in to my 8th month of pregnancy, and oh man the changes that have occurred are crazy! I have had a really easy going pregnancy this far, no real complaints everything has been great! Now, I am having a bunch of symptoms ALL at once! Its insane! I am super tired, have really bad acid indigestion, my back hurts, I can't sleep, it is getting really hard to breathe, I am moody (more than usual for those who know me! LOL!) and I am starting to leak milk! Aaaahhh!! But hey, that's how it goes I guess. I am almost to the end and I really don't want to rush it, so despite my complaints and ailments I do want him to stay put as long as he can so we have a nice healthy little boy! Just keep us in your prayers...especially at night! Know that we are probably still awake! LOL! :)

Roley Baby update

I had a doctor's appointment today. I am 33 weeks and everything is looking good. No problems, which is how we like it! The doctor let Grace and Jeffrey help him find the baby's heartbeat. Jeffrey got to squirt the gel on and Gracie got to help the doctor find David's heartbeat! They thought that was neat and had fun helping. I am optimistic that everything will continue to go so well. I will start childbirth classes next week. I can't believe that in only 6 weeks RW and I will be parents! It is exciting and scary all at the same time!We are in for a big adventure and can't wait! :)

Prayers for our troops...

I just want to ask everyone to please keep RW and all the troops overseas in your prayers. I am not sure if any of you have seen the news, but on Sunday (Father's Day) some things happened over there, not far from where RW is at. I spoke to RW Monday night and he was telling me all about it. Please just add RW and our family and all the soldiers that are over there to your prayer list. We greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

Midnight "Potty" Run...

So last night or early this morning around 3am or so...I woke up because I had to pee! Lol! Which was one of my many midnight trips to the bathroom! Last night was a little different though, because as I came back from the bathroom, my phone was lit up! I was thinking "its 3 in the morning...it has to be RW!" Sure enough, he was on IM and sent me a message. He said I know you're sleeping but I thought I would say hi...he was surprised when I wrote him back! He was like, "you're supposed to be asleep!" Lol! We only chatted for a couple minutes because he had to go. I woke up this morning and had to check my phone because I thought it all may have been a weird dream, but it wasn't! No coincidences! :) He is doing really well and is still getting into a routine over there! I will keep you all posted on him as much as I can! :)

Update on the Roley's

Hey there!

Well, again it has been a while since I have blogged. I am bad I know, but in my defense I had a lot going on! Here is the latest...

Sooo...RW's family came out to Colorado to visit before he left. So we spent some time with them and toured around Colorado a little. They flew out on a Tuesday and then my family flew in on a Wednesday to help me drive back home to CA while RW is gone. I had a doctors appointment before I left Colorado and they were nice enough to do another ultrasound so RW could see Little David one more time before he left! That was so nice...he has gotten chubby! So cute! I cannot believe that I am only 9 weeks away from having a baby! I am excited and nervous at the same time! Not much longer at all! :)

We spent the next day with RW getting him packed and ready to go. We went and looked around on Fort Carson with my brother and sister, they thought that was the coolest place. RW is my little brothers hero! We went bowling that night and the kids had a blast! They love their brother in law and will miss him as much as everyone else does!

RW deployed on that Friday. It was a tough day, but I held it together pretty well I think. I didn't shed any tears in front of RW, as he requested! After he left was a different story...I balled like a baby! Lol! It is tough with him gone, I miss him like crazy...but we can handle this! I know it!

Leaving our friends in Colorado was sad. We have made the best friends there. It was really wonderful to have 2 couples that we have really grown close to come and see RW off when he left. Martha & Josh and Stefanie & Bryce. They are really great friends to us and we will miss them dearly! When we come back we will have a new edition to our get togethers. David will be about 1 by then! We are in for a serious adventure! :)

We left Colorado the day after RW left...we drove through 5 states in 2 days. We made it to Cheyenne, WY the first day, then to my Aunts house in Utah the next day, then we pushed from Utah all the way to Sacramento to my Grandma's house the next and crashed there for 2 nights. From there it was only 4 hours home! It ended up being about a 4 day trip! BUT WE DID IT!! Now we are home and trying to get back into the swing of things and preparing for baby!!

I had a doctors appointment today here in CA with the doctor who will be delivering the baby. It went well and things are moving right along as they should be. I LOVED my doctor back in Colorado and wish I could have brought her out here with me...but I guess they don't do that! Lol! I do like the doctor I have out here. He is a nice guy!

That is about all I have to report as of now....I will "try" and do better about updating and letting everyone know what is going on. This is a great way to do it, I just need to take the time to sit and just do it! :)
